I grew up in a small coastal town in Scotland, where I first learned to sail at the age of 8 at my local sailing club. I progressed to the National Squad level and became a dinghy instructor, teaching sailing during my school and university summer holidays.
After dropping out of Edinburgh University, I discovered the UKSA Superyacht Cadetship with the help of my parents. This program equipped me with the essential skills to secure my first job in the industry, and I graduated with my Yachtmaster Offshore and friends for life.
Now, ten years later, I am the Chief Officer on a 70m MY, currently embarking on a world tour. After 7 happy years on my previous vessel, I pursued my OOW Unlimited through the Experienced Seafarer Route and passed my Master 3000 at the start of this year.
While I still have much to learn as a Chief Officer, I am eager to take on my first Captain's position in the coming years. I am committed to promoting positive change within the industry, advocating for mental health, and supporting crew, ensuring that owners and guests have a safe and exceptional experience.
I enjoy running and am currently training for the Edinburgh Marathon, as well as being in and around the sea, particularly swimming in cold water!
